Agni – the key to human health

In Ayurveda, there is a proverb which says that a person is old enough, how old it agni

. According to Ayurveda, Agni – is the biological fire that governs metabolism. Agni sustains life and vitality. Human longevity depends upon agni. As long as agni operates normally, the processes of decomposition of food, its digestibility and absorption will occur unimpeded.

When due to an imbalance in tridosha damaged agni, the process of metabolism is disrupted. Subsequently weakened immune system. Food components remain undigested and digested. They accumulate in the colon, intestine clogging and other channels such as blood vessels and capillaries. This may happen many chemical changes that create toxins. These toxins are absorbed into the bloodstream and begin to circulate. They can accumulate in the weak parts of the body, creating a seal, plugging the weakening organs, reducing the resistance of the tissues. The disease manifests itself in completely affected organs in the form of arthritis, diabetes, heart disease, etc.

Agni and pitta are closely connected: pitta – a vessel, and Agni – its contents. Pitta contained in the thermal energy that assists in the digestion of food – it is agni. Thus, pitta – keeper Agni contained therein. Agni present in each tissue and cell, is required to provide power and maintain autoimmune mechanism.

According to Ayurveda there are thirteen types of Agni in the body. The most important of them – Dzhatar-Agni , or gastric fire, responsible for the digestion of food. If digestive agni is weak and its ability impaired, you may experience pain, discomfort or a feeling of heaviness. In addition, Dzhatar-Agni provides own energy remaining twelve species of biological fire. If the digestive fire is weak, weak, and other agni.

A sign of health is considered a bright fire Agni. The root of all diseases – ama. There are many reasons for the development of the AMA, including:

  • takeover of incompatible products,

  • occasional meals,

  • binge eating,

  • drinking coffee and alcohol,

  • emotional disorders,

  • reception stale food.

Ama may arise from inadequate digestion. Ama develops when activity slows down agni. However, excessive activity of agni is also detrimental. When Agni too strong digestion turns in rapid combustion and incineration ashes biologically normal food nutrients leads to devastating results. This situation also lowers bodily resistance.

Ayurveda teaches that the strength of Agni is not constant, it is exposed to daily, seasonal and age variations. It is believed that the biological fire grows with age and reaches its peak in 40 years. To the 60 years it begins to weaken and then old age comes.
