First time on yoga

Sometimes it is difficult to take the first step and, finally, to do yoga. We find a lot of reasons not to start your yoga practice: we are afraid that will not work to perform the asanas, experience that can not cope with the tasks of an instructor, shy of the figure, etc. And when we finally decide that there is a lot of questions about how to come to the first lesson. Let’s try to answer these questions.

What you need to inform the instructor before the first lesson?

Before your first lesson you must inform the instructor that you have come for the first time (the instructor will give you more attention), and, if necessary, tell what you have limitations of exercise: recent trauma, disease or surgery.

Perhaps some asanas you at this stage do not need, or need to carry out their simplified versions. The instructor will explain it to you. If this day fell the critical days, then it is also necessary to inform the instructor, because menstruating women are contraindicated inverted postures and exercises related to the pressure in the abdominal cavity and the abdominal strain. Instead, the short relaxation in the appropriate asana or variations of exercises aimed at the soft opening of hip joints.

Is it possible to eat and drink before class?

It is possible, but it is advisable to calculate the meal so that she could fully digest before class (no later than 2 hours before the class). Dense meal shortly before practice not only prevent you comfortable and fully engaged, but also cause indigestion, followed by a violation of the digestive system. If you are worried about before going in for a strong sense of hunger, you can eat for an hour before the start of something light – a little bit of fruit, vegetables, yogurt, etc. Immediately prior to the occupation is allowed to drink some warm water or warm herbal tea. During sessions in the hall it is not recommended to drink water because it introduces an imbalance in the heated body practice. You can and must be to quench their thirst before and after classes.

What to wear to yoga?

For yoga suits any sports clothing that does not restrict movement, preferably from natural “breathing” materials. Sports shoes are not necessary, since the Classes are mainly held on the rug barefoot (in rare cases, socks).

What to bring with you to the yoga?

The practice is required to take a physical shape and, if desired, a towel and cosmetic products for the soul (if after exercise you prefer to wash). Mats in the hall yoga center is there, but, of course, from the point of view of hygiene, you can purchase a rug.
