According to Ayurveda, the three primary life forces are present in the human body as three biological elements: Vata , Pitta and Kapha . Their activity and mobility predetermines the processes of growth and decay. In Ayurveda these biological elements called doshas. When the doshas balance is broken, they become the forces that cause the disease processes.
Vata – this dosha air. Sometimes the word “wool” is translated as “wind” or “something that moves things.” This motivating force that drives the other two doshas, which are unable to move in her absence. It also controls the movements of the senses and the mind, provides mental adaptation and ability to understand. Vata is located in the colon, thighs, ears, bones and organs of touch. Its basic position – the colon.
Pitta – this dosha fire. “Pitt” is sometimes translated as “gall” or “that which digests things’. Pitta is responsible for all chemical and metabolic processes in the body. She also manages our mental “digestion” – our ability to perceive reality and understand the essence of things. Pitt is located in the small intestine, stomach, sweat and sebaceous glands, blood, lymph and organ of vision. Its basic position – the small intestine.
Kapha – this dosha water. Sometimes the word “kapha” is translated as “slime” or “something that holds things together.” Kapha creates and supports the body substance forming the bulk tissue. It also provides our emotional support in life and manages such positive emotions such as love, compassion, humility, patience and forgiveness. Kapha is located in the chest, throat, head, pancreas, hips, stomach, lymph, fat, nose and tongue. Its basic position – the stomach.
As mentioned above, each dosha corresponds to a specific location in the body. A body in which is located dosha is prone to breakdown, which is characteristic for this dosha. Disturbances of wool appear as gases in the colon. Disorders Pitta manifested as bile acid by the liver and small intestine. Kapha violations are manifested in the form of mucus in the lungs and mucus in the stomach.
In the body of every human being has all three doshas. The body and its separation consist mainly of Kapha – water in our body. Pitt gives our body heat and the ability to transform a variety of substances – it’s our fire. Vata governs energy and movement – it is our air. Despite the fact that the human body contains all three doshas, their relationship is different in each person. Usually one of them is dominant, and its nature leaves its mark on our appearance and character.
From the perspective of Ayurveda to treat the disease first step is to determine the natural constitution of man according to his dominant doshas – Vata, Pitta or Kapha. Most diseases arise from an imbalance that leads to the birth of a dominant dosha. In fact, all the diseases to which man is prone, can be cured by balancing its constitution.
This approach, based on the determination of the constitution, is the essence of Ayurvedic medicine and opens up opportunities to prevent diseases, maintain health and achieve longevity. It can help you develop an individual mode of life for each individual, allowing him to maintain health and make optimal use of their human and creative potential.
Some people clearly dominates any one dosha, and could be considered a type of pure wool, pure Pitta or Kapha clean. There are also mixed types, when two or three doshas are present in a person about the same degree. This dual types: Vata Pitta (air-to-fire) Kapha Vata (air-water), Pitta-Kapha (fire-water) and a triple type: Vata Pitta Kapha. Thus, there are seven basic types.
The ratio of the three doshas usually designated using numbers. For example, the phrase “4 Vata, Pitta 2, Kapha 1” means that the person’s high level of Vata and Kapha low level. However, well-defined description of the rules of the constitution in the form of the proportion of the doshas yet, and different doctors may give this assessment in different ways.
