Calming the external breath leads to the experience of deep peace and tranquility. This state of consciousness in the “Yoga Sutras” of Patanjali is called samadhi.
In samadhi, breathing becomes so slow that its movement is almost indistinguishable. In the higher stages of samadhi, the outer breath stops completely, stopping time and opening eternity. When the external breath is suspended, this is a sign of the transition to inner pranic breathing. A person no longer needs to breathe lungs, since consciousness is fully connected with the prana in the central channel of the subtle body, which is the core of life.
For the awakening of pranic knowledge, there are techniques of pranayama in which to direct fine energy to different levels of the being, breathing is used.
At the heart of the prana-technician are exercises from yoga, which are easy to master:
* Rechaka (devastation) – a complete exhalation
* Puraka (filling) – a deep breath
* kumbhaka – breath holding
Different kinds of breathing help normalize the work of internal organs, restore the nervous system, control emotions and feelings.
Pranayama also often uses yoga exercises, combined with meditative practice.
Prana Yoga is of three kinds:
– Mantra-prana-yoga. It is important to pronounce the mantras in proportion to breathing. Especially the Bija-mantras, but also nominal and long. In the Vedas, prana is understood as an unmanifested speech. Therefore, mantra yoga is to some extent a form of prana yoga;
– Prana Yoga as such. In this form of prana yoga, a person works directly with power or prana. But not through breathing, but through the direction of will and motivation. It is necessary to draw prana from the lower chakras to the higher chakras by developing the will power;
– Dhyana-prana-yoga. This is a yoga meditation. Here meditate on prana, which is most often represented in the form of a deity.
Prana Yoga helps to control the energy of the mind, as well as to awaken in him the power of direct perception. According to ancient philosophy, the threads of pranic energy permeate the entire human body. Lying inside the nerves, along the spine, they join in six chakras, in the base which is located the source of fire energy – kundalini. Awakening him gives man liberation, joy, harmony and peace, which are the ultimate goal of studying all yogic practices of yoga.
