On this page we have always advocated simplicity and minimalism in everything we do in our lives , so we believe that there is no need for an extensive guide to meditate, and the system should be as simple as possible.

This is a mini guide to meditation techniques for beginners , for beginners, simple and practical. It is simply to learn to walk in this world, where I expose what works for me. If you want to take more steps, I recommend that you look in other sources or put yourself in the hands of a professional, that there are and very good ones.

What is meditation?

Meditation is the simple practice of a state of concentration. Our attention can be focused on many things during meditation: our thinking, our internal energy, our own consciousness, the same concentration, or external objects. To meditate is to let ourselves flow , leaving aside the body and the mind, focusing on the here and now. We let our mind be free, without looking at the thoughts it creates, so that they flow in and out.

Meditation is one of the techniques used in mindfulness, so fashionable in these times.

What is meditation for?

In my opinion, the use of meditation techniques will help us and much to improve our quality of life.

One of the purposes of meditation is to reach the serenity of the mind. – Share it!     We will achieve a much calmer mind, self-healing is stimulated, improving the immune system and also provide us with greater awareness and creativity.

Types of meditation

Fundamentally and historically there are 2 types:

Some meditation techniques focus on experiencing and perceiving full consciousness , while others focus on a particular object to achieve that concentration. It may be easier to start meditating on the latter.

In the meditations without any object , that is to say the first ones, the mental images are let flow, as well as the sensations, emotions, impulses and corporal energies without acting on them.

Now I’m going to talk about some of the most popular types of meditation (there are many more) so you know where the shots go. Do not be scared that everything is much simpler than it may seem. In addition you can meditate without any religious component, that will depend on you.

Zen meditation

It can be said that for Zen philosophy , meditating means entering into deep contact with one’s own human consciousness , which alone is capable of discerning the existential meaning of life .

Vedanta meditation

Vedanta is liberation can not be achieved through rituals, actions or works of charity. The goal of Vedanta is the  knowledge of the Absolute Existence  (Brahman) that is beyond the limits of the intellect and the manifested world. It teaches us the unity of life and the union of conscience

Kundalini meditation

Kundalini yoga . It is known as the yoga of consciousness, it is very spiritual and involves songs, meditation and mantras. Through his practice he seeks the opening and balance of the chakras  to prevent and cure emotional and physical ailments. She is known as the mother of all yogas. The meditation kundalini perhaps a meditative technique to try.

Buddhist meditation 

In Buddhist meditative techniques , learning and the development of goodness and superior knowledge are integrated.

The Buddhist meditation , using various tools such as technical Vipassana technique which means to see things as they really are, without internal or external interference.

Vipassana meditation

It is one of the most ancient Buddhist meditation techniques in India, as it was practiced more than 2,500 years ago and was the great universal “medicine” for any kind of problem. The conscious mind does not know what is happening in the depth of our being and Vipassana meditation will help us to discover it.

Transcendental meditation (TM)

It is a technique developed in the 50s of the last century but that comes from techniques such as more than 3,500 years old. His meditative technique is the constant repetition of mantras.

The technique of transcendental meditation allows the mind to establish itself in a state of inner calm without any active effort. It is a style of meditation that is not linked to any religious current or philosophy. It does not imply changes in our lifestyle or our beliefs.

How can you learn to meditate?

Nowadays there is no excuse to start in the wonderful world of meditation.

It will depend on each one of us, the way in which we can introduce ourselves in the learning of meditation.

If you ask me my recommendation is that you look for a place near your work or your home where they can teach you meditation techniques . There is a great offer of meditation courses. Many times accompanied goes further, do not you think?

If you have enough willpower and you like to work freely, I would say that you first see the 2 videos that you have below , where you can experiment a bit.

Then on the internet you have plenty of meditation videos: youtube and other video channels are open 24 hours so that you can train in meditative techniques and in any other aspect.
